Power recliners are just another name for lift chair recliners. They are designed for those needing assistance getting in and out of the seated position. Power recliners are made to look like a typical mechanical recliner but use electric motors to recline the chair back and lift a person up to a standing position. This is achieved by a two motor system which allows the back to recline and stay at any position you want. Unlike its two and three position recliner counter-parts, the footrest in the infinite position reclining chairs can be adjusted separately, thus giving you the best and most comfortable experience on the reclining chair. You can use this type of chair for all purposes, including sleeping, relaxing, reading, thinking and much more.

Some recliners come with electronic and automated features. These are beyond a passive recliner and actually give you something back. Another feature you find in recliners is heat. Heat is a great way to convert your body. It is also used extensively in sports to enhance blood flow and reduce swelling. Besides heat just feels good on a cool night. You can see that there are a variety of new features being offered in todays recliners. There are a wide range of recliners available. Taste Changes in Family and Living Rooms. Recliners of this era were typically heavy and overstuffed. When changes in decor style changes so did the chairs. At this point quite a few individuals decided not to have these types of recliners. By the 1970 these comfy relics found their way to basements and garages. In fact this may have been the birth of the "Man Cave" concept widely known today. Changes in taste seemed to lean toward saving space.
