Accent chair furniture is a great addition to any home which comes in classical or modern designs. Chairs can give prominence to any room in any type of building. Among different types of accent furniture, chairs and tables are the most functional and useful for homes, offices and buildings. Accent chairs and tables have simple purposes and can turn a convenient piece of furniture into a work of art. Beautiful chairs arent just for luxury but also serve as a means to relax after a hard days work. Back in the old days, men and women sat on the ground or on a big rock to take a rest. As man became more creative, he molded tree trunks into benches and used tree stumps as stools. These were the earliest kinds of chairs and the only way people could have a little bit of comfort and rest. It was a great improvement from sitting on dirt.

Bean bag chairs and sectionals are no longer filled with Styrofoam. Instead, they are filled with shredded polyurethane. Polyurethane comes from sugar. Steam is blown into the sugar to create the voluminous effect. You can purchase them with two different sizes of polyurethane beans. Regular sectionals are created with beans ranging from 3 to 9 mm, but micro beads are now available with beans ranging from 1 to 3 mm. Bean Bag Sectionals are becoming especially popular for media rooms. These functional pieces of furniture can be reconfigured to meet different needs as people come and go. Sectionals can be purchased with four to seven pieces. A couple snuggling up watching a romantic movie might use four of the sections as a bed. When the kids have their friends over for a night of watching horror flicks, they can spread the pieces out so everyone has a spot
Historians say that the Egyptians were the first who used accent chair furniture with hieroglyphics to decorate their homes. They considered it as a luxury and a status symbol. That is still a concept that is used today with expensive and exquisitely designed chairs that grace grander homes. The Greeks and Romans eventually caught up with the trend of using chairs as a piece of furniture to relax in and the fad spread throughout other ancient civilizations around the globe like Asia and Western Europe. As accent chair furniture spread across different cultures, the designs evolved and took a variety of shapes, motifs and sizes. Nowadays, our lifestyle is incredibly fast paced compared to long ago. You and I are always exhausted from long hours of commute and stressful work every day. Whether we are at the office or at home, we spend more hours on a chair than in bed. It doesnt matter if you are lazy or hard working, everyone will have to sit on a chair. We try to maximize our comfort level by sitting on plush sofas and padded seats. Chairs, coaches, bar stools, benches and other comfortable accent chair furniture provide us with the comfort we need.
In the late 1960s and 1970s, bean bag chairs were a popular form of modular furniture. Filled with small chunks of Styrofoam or PVC pellets, these were standard fare in dormitories and young peoples homes. Adults also bought them for their childrens bonus rooms. They didnt tend to be seen as "grown up" furniture. But in the 21st century, these chairs have been completely updated and now can now be brought up from the basement and put into an elegant family room. Now adults are proud to have bean bag chairs and sectionals as part of their family and media rooms.
