Leather as chairs is fairly easy to maintain. All you would be needing is to wipe it with a clean damp cloth every once in a while and if you want, could even buy leather conditioners and apply them to your leather seats to give your leather chair a classic appearance that would last for many years. Keep in mind that upholstered chairs that have a shiny or smooth finish will make you constantly slide on your seat. You might also find your clothes wearing out more quickly because of the leather seats, so if youre wearing expensive suits or business outfits, you will need to increase your clothing budget. Price is no longer a big problem nowadays because there are high quality chairs made of leather that are very affordable compared to when the leather chair was first introduced in the market decades ago.
If you want your chair to last for many, many years consider buying chairs made of high quality leather and made by well-known manufacturers because they would truly provide you many years of great service. High quality chairs made of leather usually are upholstered in a single piece of leather hide, and has the best look. Sometimes, to reduce the costs of producing their chairs, most chair producers or manufacturers, use a good quality vinyl to upholster the back part of the product so choose carefully and look closely at the leather chairs to see whether they are purely made of leather of not.
The only advice I can offer you in your hunt for slippery leather chairs and sofas is that that harder upholstery tends to have a higher percentage of slippery surfaces. The sofas with puffy cushions tend to not slide as much as the padding engulfs your body parts. The tighter and harder style chair is your best chance of slippery greatness. Finally it should be pointed out that not all slippery chairs get the click factor right. In some instances the slipperiness will be so severe that upon reclining, instead of your rear end sliding into the comfort pocket, you will continue to slide all the way off the chair until your head is where your bottom should be. Make sure to test your sofa or chair before purchasing. These factors can only known if you personally sit in them. It is very subjective. So be weary before you purchase furniture online before trying it out in person, even if it is a trusted brand you have had good results with in the past.
Something that people dont understand about leather chairs is that they need to be taken care of on a regular basis, unlike wooden chairs. These treatments are simple, and fairly quick, but dont let that fact stray you from doing them. First and foremost, touch your chair. Does is feel soft? It should, and your fingers should slide easily along with it. If it doesnt, it is time to treat it. Now check your chairs instruction manual. Many high end brands of chairs have very specified instructions on how to care for their chairs such as a leather armchair, leather office chair, or leather dining chairs. Make sure to keep dust off the chair. This is important, as dust carries many oily bacteria that can damage leather chairs. Dust your chair once a day or at least once a week if possible.
Check to see if your chair is water resistant. If the leather on the chair is shiny, it most likely is protected from liquids. However, some chairs are non-finished, and these should not be cleaned with liquid products. Whether or not it is water-resistant, always use caution when dealing with leather. For non-finished leather chairs, use an art-gum eraser and erase the dirt from the chair. This is essentially the only way to clean this type of chair. You might have to clean the entire chair this way. For water-resistant chairs, use the eraser to clean up minor dirt spots. Wash water-proof chairs with mild soap such as Ivory. Use a bucket of room temperature water and rub the soap together with your hands in it. Make sure it is not hot or cold; it must be room temperature or the soap will not clean properly. Make sure to clean the entire chair thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth that has been soaked in the soapy water. If you dont clean certain parts, the chair may look splotchy. Rinse it off with another damp cloth. Now dry the leather chair with another clean cloth.
